SECRETARY MINUTES – Approved as read.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Administration – Father Dennis
Discussion: Discrepancy in
Queen of the Apostles assessed $63,000.
Total enrollment at this time is about 140 students.
New Pastor will have to address the feasibility of this school.
Education – Yvonne Bacon
Discussion: As of now, we have 82 children registered.
PREP
registration ends
We need 5 new teachers at this time for 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 grades.
Children’s Liturgy will end the weekend of June 6-7 due to
lack of participation and resume the weekend of Sept.6-7.
No money to pay a fulltime Religious Ed Coordinator, so Sr. Marie will take care of
Sacramental class meetings, Angie will help and Yvonne will be at the middle school on
Wednesdays as much as possible. Father will also help where and when he is needed.
Liturgical/Worship – Pat Demarest
Discussion: Plan to schedule evening retreat for ministries in fall (suggested Sr. Barbara Springer)
Music Ministry is planning a farewell for Nicole & Christine who have graduated from high
school.
Lectors will be able to make the announcements prior to Mass. Fr. Dennis will discuss this at
the Lector Ministry meeting.
Ushers met with Fr. Dennis on
becoming ushers. They reviewed the guidelines. Sr. Marie has a mission statement and will type
it up.
The ushers will be wearing “Usher” name tags.
Community/Social Justice – Sr. Marie
Discussion: Plan a trip to
Diocese.
Youth Ministry
Discussion: This program is going to be put on hold until new pastor.
A professional is needed.
Old Business: Parish
restructuring update –In mid to late summer, manual will be sent out for
mergers.
Merger committee will be open to everyone. Father Dennis and Sr. Marie will review.
By the end of August, Father Dennis should know what his situation is, hopefully semi-retirement. Father
would like to be involved in community activities, adult faith formation and visit sick. He would like to stay
in this area.
New Business: Report on Criteria for Pastor Planning:
Monsignor Joyce asked for concerns and wish list.
St. Mary’s concern was getting to mass – distance.
They are also very confused.

Queen of the Apostles – other parishes very interested in our Music Ministry.
Monsignor Joyce seemed to be impressed with our great attitudes regarding merger.
Joint Parish Council Get-Together

permitting. We are all bringing a food item to share. Corpus Christi/St. James is supplying meat
and refreshments.
No council meetings July and August.
