Our Parish
Our People:
Comprising the most densely populated area of Salem County, centrally located on the Southwest Delaware River shoreline of the county, we the people of Queen of the Apostles Faith Community, are a multi-cultural, predominately Caucasian, middle class, suburban enclave of about 700 families with average to fixed-low income. The geographic area has potential for growth, but not apparently in the immediate future. Such demographics would account for a growth rate of less than 1%. As a parish, we are not poor, but our financial situation is such that nearly all of our families operate on a fairly tight income. With more seniors and single parents becoming the norm, we have organized appropriate ministries to address their needs while maintaining the maximum level of volunteerism to help offset expenses for corresponding programs and services.
Our Beliefs:
Primarily by our singular and communal life of prayer, with the support of the church and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we are dedicated to living and promoting the tenets of the Roman Catholic Faith. We are ever mindful of the gifts we give and receive in our common worship, education, and pastoral service. We strive through our care and responsibility to be a community, which furthers evangelization and reconciliation by our presence and support in the wider civic community.
Our Purpose:
Employing the five-fold ministries of, Spiritual Life and Worship, Christian Formation, Pastoral Care and Service, Administration, and Maintenance. We see our purpose and mission is to provide a welcoming community of faith, in which anyone can comfortably worship God in a Catholic setting; to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ as He did in his ministry and teaching; and as far as we are able, to serve the needs of the broader community.
